Welcome

So I've decided to finally create my blog. At first I was going to do a blog specifically on the food choices in the GTA, hence the name "Chewy's Choices". But then I thought it could be one of the focuses but I'd like to include some other things too. Maybe some personal opinions and the odd picture or two.

I think everyday we have to make many choices. We decide every day what we're going to wear, what we're going to eat, and more importantly what we're going to do. Some choices we make unconsciously while others we think long and hard. We may not always make the right choices but I think in the end we try to make the best choices for us, our family and our friends.

Hopefully I can share with you some of the choices I make (or have made) and maybe even my thoughts. Feel free to make comments or suggestions as I'm always happy to hear from my friends.

Qin Warriors

We're back in Shanghai now after flying to Beijing and Xian.  While in Xian I probably saw the most interesting thing (to me at least) that I think I'll ever see in my life.  The Terracotta warriors of the Qin dynasty.

These Terracotta warriors have also interested me ever since I heard about them.  I have a few replica figures at home that were given to me as a gift. Even they were really neat. But to honest nothing compares to the real thing.

I don't even know how to explain seeing this airplane sized hanger with these trenches dug in the ground with hundreds of these Terracotta warriors.  They believe in the first pit to be approx. 4000 warriors however I think only 1200 have been uncovered and pieced back together.  In total there are 3 pits that have been discovered with approx 6000 warriors believed to be in these pits.  Each warriors id different from the next.  There are different ranks and details that distinguish each of them from one another.

I'd have to think that if you ever visit China, besides the great wall, you need to visit Xian and the Qin warriors.
