Welcome

So I've decided to finally create my blog. At first I was going to do a blog specifically on the food choices in the GTA, hence the name "Chewy's Choices". But then I thought it could be one of the focuses but I'd like to include some other things too. Maybe some personal opinions and the odd picture or two.

I think everyday we have to make many choices. We decide every day what we're going to wear, what we're going to eat, and more importantly what we're going to do. Some choices we make unconsciously while others we think long and hard. We may not always make the right choices but I think in the end we try to make the best choices for us, our family and our friends.

Hopefully I can share with you some of the choices I make (or have made) and maybe even my thoughts. Feel free to make comments or suggestions as I'm always happy to hear from my friends.

The Wedding year!

What a busy and fun weekend.  It started off with my buddies stag where we had a great dinner at Baton Rouge with lots of great guys.  We ended up at this improv show as well but it wasn't the greatest show that I've seen but I still laughed.  I've always wanted to have an improv night with all my friends, I think it'd be a great time.  We'll see if and when we ever do it.

Sat night I went downtown to a restaurant bar called Insomnia for a birthday get together.  It's located on Bloor St west near bathurst.  It's not a huge restaurant but it's a long and narrow setup.  Speaking of narrow, me and a buddy went to the bathroom and the urinals we so close together we might have been using the same one at the same time.  I guess the odd thing was even with our shoulders touching we didn't even seem to mind.  In the back of the place are a few couches and lounge chairs and we were lucky enough to have most of that area reserved for us.  I ended up ordering a sirloin steak with a cesar salad and mushroom soup.  The mushroom soup was homemade and very tasty.  Not too salty with the right amount of "creaminess".  the steak was supposed to come with a peppercorn sauce but for some reason they said they didn't have it but did have a tarragon based sauce or au jus that they could put on the steak.  Instead I had them put a side of hot sauce on the side.  The steak and the hot sauce was quite delightful.  The steak seemed a little over done but still edible.  I asked for medium but it came almost well done.

Sunday started off super early.  I had to be in Aurora for my friends wedding for 8am.  We ended up taking  a lot of photo's and had two tea ceremonies take place that day.  We took photo's down at Allen Gardens.  Thank goodness we took photos inside as it was a pretty cold day.  It even snowed that day.  The wedding ended around midnight.   It was a lot of fun and I couldn't believe how much food there was.  The food was also very good.  One of the best weddings I've been to for food.  And this was wedding number 9 this year.

I haven't had much sleep over the last few days so I should be going to bed now but here comes another busy week!!
